Thinking to do a pregnancy photo shoot soon? Preparation is key for a beautiful shoot. It is always better to have some great posing ideas in mind beforehand so that you don’t waste time on the day of the shoot. Remember, these photos are going to be your forever memories of a very special time in your life and a beautiful reminder of it.
Here are some of the best pregnancy poses that will bring a smile on your face every time you look at them.
Focusing on the glowing mum: The idea is to focus on the mum-to-be, her natural beauty, glowing skin, beautiful smile and above all her round belly. Some great portrait shots can be taken focusing on the mum and her tummy. However, in the last weeks of pregnancy, a mum-to-be may not feel or look very well. So, it is best to capture these portrait shots anywhere between 30-34 weeks of the pregnancy.
Silhouettes- Nothing can be more beautiful than capturing a black and white silhouette of a pregnant lady. All you need is a simple background so that the mum-to-be can stand out.
Heart-shaped hands- The best way to show love for the growing baby is with a heart. So, having the couple’s hands over the belly in the shape of a heart is a beautiful shot to capture!
The couple- Beautiful shots of the growing love between the couple in this special phase of their lives can be captured. Holding hands, sitting back to back, overlooking the belly, etc. can be photographed.
Big brother/sister pose- The elder child is the one who is most excited about the arrival of their little brother/sister. So, many great pics can be captured of the elder child interacting with his mother’s belly. Even a simple touch or kiss on the belly can turn out to be a great picture.
You can also have your child hold a chalkboard with the date of the arrival of the baby or you can hold him/her in the air. A simple tip here is to let the child be and capture the most natural pics of them and you.
Cute props- The most common props are baby shoes, an ultrasound picture, onesies and chalkboards. You can use any props but do not let it take away the focus from you, the focus should always be on you and your family!
Lastly, the most important pose is a smile! Don’t be shy or feel awkward! Be yourself and have fun, the resulting photo shoot will then be nothing short of beautiful!
